Wet Weight Training

Water exercise has grown in popularity, partly because its low-impact milieu reduces injury risk. Now, there’s a way to add even more variety to aqua workouts: the Aquarius Water Workout Station.

It’s a stainless steel structure that can be installed in a private or commercial pool. By using the grips and platforms of the workout station, athletes can do a series of 12 muscle toning exercises, similar to a landlubber’s weight-training in a gym.

“It does offer an opportunity to exercise a lot of different muscle groups and it’s safe,” says Vicki Chossek, executive director of the Aquatic Exercise Assn., who has used the station. It sells for $995 from Aquatic Fitness Products, (407) 585-0754.
