N.Y. City Comptroller Will Challenge D’Amato

NEW YORK — City Comptroller and former congresswoman Elizabeth Holtzman said she will seek the Democratic nomination next year to challenge Republican Sen. Alfonse M. D’Amato, who won his first term in 1980 by narrowly defeating Holtzman.
