IBM Accuses Firm of Counterfeiting Cards: International Business Machines Corp. filed suit against Comdisco Inc., a computer-remarketing company, charging it with producing counterfeit memory cards for IBM 3090 mainframes and leasing them to unsuspecting customers. An IBM spokesman said the company filed the suit in U.S. District Court in Chicago. IBM alleged in its lawsuit that Rosemont, Ill.-based Comdisco, which remarkets and leases IBM equipment, engaged in a “deliberate program of surreptitiously disassembling IBM-manufactured memory cards and using the cannibalized parts to build memory cards.”
