Surya Bonaly of France, fifth at the World Figure Skating Championships in March, ruined Jill Trenary’s comeback, winning the Skate Canada International at London, Ontario.

Trenary, 23, the 1990 world champion who sat out last season because of ankle injuries, finished fourth. It was her first competition in 16 months.

Marina Kielmann of Germany was second and Karen Preston of Canada was third.
