Walnut : 2 Car Lot Owners Arrested
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies have arrested the co-owners of a Walnut-area used car lot and seized seven vehicles, alleging that the dealers were selling stolen cars.
Rodrigo Redondo, 35, of Walnut, and George Mano, 50, of Torrance, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of grand theft and receiving stolen property, Deputy Irma Becerra said. The men own Advanced Auto Sales in the 19600 block of Valley Boulevard, investigators said.
Redondo and Mano allegedly switched the identification numbers on stolen cars, then sold them as used cars to unsuspecting buyers, Becerra said. She said some of the cars were exported to Mexico and South America.
Sheriff’s auto theft Detective Gerald Lay said the seven recovered vehicles included six Toyota four-wheel-drive vehicles and one GMC van.
