* Apple Computer Inc. has named James L. Forquer as vice president of Apple Worldwide Operations. Forquer, 41, most recently was senior director of U.S. Regional Operations of Apple.

Forquer replaces Gerald F. (Fred) Forsyth, who was named senior vice president and general manager of Apple’s Macintosh Hardware division in April.

Forquer will provide overall direction to Apple’s worldwide manufacturing and logistics operations in the United States, Asia and Europe.
