San Diego County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the killing of an unidentified man whose partly clothed body was found on the shoulder of Interstate 15 early Sunday morning.
Sgt. Manny Castillo said that, at about 5:30 a.m., a motorist spotted a sleeping bag on the southbound shoulder of the freeway just north of Gopher Canyon Road and stopped to investigate. Inside was the body of a white male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing only a pair of pants.
The man, who had been shot in the head, had brown eyes, brown hair and a mustache. Medical examiner investigator Jerry Hillbrand also found two tattoos on the body: the name “Diana” above a heart on the left arm, and a second heart on the right hand at the base of the thumb.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the sheriff’s communication line at 565-5200 or the homicide detail at 692-5600.
