IRVINE : Chamber to Hold Bad-Check Forum

Share

The Chamber of Commerce will hold a breakfast forum Wednesday to help businesses deal with--and collect from--customers who write bad checks.

The forum, from 7:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Irvine, will feature Orange County Deputy Dist. Atty. Bruce Patterson and Don Mealing, the bad-check program administrator for the district attorney’s office.

The two will explain a process begun last year to help recover funds lost through bad checks. The system helps the accused avoid prosecution by repaying merchants and attending an education program.

Topics to be covered at the forum will include check protection procedures, steps to filing a complaint and how the restitution process works.

Cost is $15 in advance or $18 at the door. The fee includes a breakfast buffet. For reservations, call the Chamber of Commerce at (714) 660-9112.
