Group Stages Boycott Against Drug Maker: The Alliance for the Mentally Ill of New York, has urged a boycott of Ex-Lax and other products to pressure pharmaceutical manufacturer Sandoz International to lower the price of a drug that helps schizophrenics. Along with Ex-Lax, Sandoz markets Dorcol cough syrup, the cold remedies Thera-Flu and Triaminic, and a handful of prescription drugs to help the mentally ill. A Sandoz spokesman denounced the boycott, noting that the average price of a medium dosage of clozapine is $3,750 a year, down from $8,900 in May.
