HemaCare Credits Higher Sales for Profit in Quarter

HemaCare Corp. in Sherman Oaks said it turned profitable in the third quarter after year-earlier losses because of increased sales of its blood-related products and services.
In the quarter ended Sept. 30, HemaCare earned $52,493, in contrast with a year-earlier loss of $290,660. Revenues jumped 28% to $2.35 million from $1.84 million.
HemaCare narrowed its losses in the nine months ended Sept. 30 to $311,071 from a $523,594 loss in the same period in 1990. Revenues totaled $6.27 million, a 20% gain.
