South Gate : Violators of 2 New Parking Laws Are Getting Warnings

Share

The South Gate Police Department has begun issuing warnings to violators of two new parking laws that took effect Oct. 15. Tickets will be given after Nov. 25.

One law prohibits the parking of high-profile vehicles such as campers and motor homes within 100 feet of any intersection. It is intended to give motorists better visibility when approaching intersections or making turns. The law applies to vehicles 6 feet or more in height.

The second regulation bans parking of commercial vending vehicles, such as ice cream and lunch trucks, in residential areas between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. Police said the prohibition will increase residential parking space and enhance visibility.
