Here’s a look at new releases you’ll find in the video store this weekend:

Recent Movies: “What About Bob?” (Touchstone, $94.95, PG). This early-summer hit is one of the most delightful films of 1991. Under the direction of Frank Oz, the comedy manages to be frequently hilarious and provide insight into mental problems.

“Backdraft” (MCA/Universal, no list price, R). The plot (battling brothers) isn’t hot, but the special effects (giving the best sense yet of the dangers of firefighting) and the cast (Kurt Russell, Robert De Niro, William Baldwin) are. Directed by Ron Howard.

Also: “Mortal Thoughts” (Columbia Tristar, $92.95, R) with Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, “Guilty By Suspicion” (Warner, $92.99, PG-13) with Robert De Niro and Annette Bening, “Delusion” (Columbia Tristar, $89.95, R) with Jennifer Rubin, plus the first Chinese film to receive a best foreign language film Academy Award nomination, “Ju Dou” (LIVE, $89.95, PG-13).
