Ratings on Reagan
In response to the recent Times Poll on former President Ronald Reagan (Nov. 4), it comes as no surprise to me that the American public views Reagan’s performance in the White House as “average.” While in office, a mythical image of the President was created, which no President could ever live up to, especially Reagan. He proved that during the Iran-Contra scandal. In the years since Reagan left the White House, Americans have realized what Reaganomics and “Star Wars” have done to our economy.
And of course one can’t forget the library in honor of the former President. The $57-million library will serve as a reminder to all Americans what an “average” President has done to our country. I wonder what a library for the “best” President ever would cost?
