SPIFFY: Huntington Beach officials want to set a freeway fashion trend. The City Council this week voted to beautify its front door by re-landscaping the cloverleaf islands leading from the San Diego Freeway onto Beach Boulevard. . . . “We want people driving by to see beautiful, tall palm trees and other beautiful landscaping and realize this is Huntington Beach,” says city spokesman Tom Andrusky. Caltrans has given its blessing to the project, but the city will pay for it.
