Laguna Niguel Skateboarding Arrests Assailed and Defended

I read, with great amazement (“Parents Fume at Skateboarding Arrests,” Oct. 31) that, at a time when many law enforcement agencies generally are suffering from bureaucratic helplessness and marginal effectiveness against murder, rape, burglary and drug abuse, the Sheriff’s Department in Laguna Niguel managed to deal so directly and efficiently with the horrifying crime of skateboarding.
It is most gratifying to see these people’s salaries (our tax money) put to the purpose of protecting us and providing for the well-being of our community.
