SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Pacific Point Gets Final Green Light

Share

Pacific Point, the largest development in the city in over a decade, won final approval from the City Council last week.

The council voted 3 to 1 in favor of the 256-acre planned community. Councilman Jeff Vasquez dissented, while Councilman Gary L. Hausdorfer abstained, citing a potential conflict of interest.

The project includes 350 housing units, two parks and two commercial sites spanning prominent Window Hill in the southernmost part of the city above Interstate 5.

The residential portion of the project will be divided into five neighborhoods. Residences will range from townhomes nearest the freeway to ranch houses on 1-acre lots, said Mike Schlesinger of TMC Communities Inc., the developer.

“We hope to file subdivision maps within the next few weeks,” Schlesinger said, and groundbreaking may occur in late 1992.
