And Now, the News: Longtime NBC anchor John Palmer will become anchor of the Discovery Channel’s “World Monitor” on Dec. 2. He takes over for John Hart, who unexpectedly decided to leave the program last week. . . . Several ABC affiliates interrupted local programs Wednesday to broadcast an old bulletin on the outbreak of the Gulf War. WUTR of Utica, N.Y., had asked for a retransmission of the file video for a special program, but the transmission was inadvertently aired by a number of stations. . . . And there was good news for “Brooklyn Bridge” on Thursday. The CBS series has been picked up for the full season.
