COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Bruins Learn to ‘Fight On’ in Practice

Share

An unusual sound is being heard this week from loudspeakers at UCLA’s practice field. Are you ready for the strains of “Fight On” and “Tribute to Troy,” courtesy of the USC band?

“We do so, because if you’re not careful it can be a distraction, and you have to concentrate through it,” Bruin Coach Terry Donahue said, adding that the Trojan band doesn’t let up during games.

“We play (USC songs) on our practice field so that we learn to concentrate on our signals, offensive or defensive, and not get disrupted by the constant playing of the band.

“And our band does the same thing, or it’s supposed to.”
