The Region : Main Water Chief Elected
Joseph C. Reichenberger has been elected chairman of the Main San Gabriel Water Quality Authority.
Reichenberger, a Monterey Park resident who also is a member of the San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District board, replaced Anthony R. Fellow of El Monte.
The authority was set up last year to unite San Gabriel Valley water districts and officials to clean up the severe ground-water pollution in the area.
Fellow, who remains on the board, resigned as chairman in protest over what he said was the authority’s slowness in dealing with the pollution. He is board president of the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District.
Muriel F. O’Brien, a member of the Three Valleys Municipal Water District, was elected vice chairwoman.
