About 50 demonstrators threw sand on a tennis court and shouted anti-apartheid slogans, temporarily halting play in the ATP World Doubles Final at Johannesburg, South Africa. The protest was organized by the Tennis Assn. of South Africa, which represents mostly mixed-race players. The says South Africa has not achieved full racial unity in tennis and should not be awarded an international event.
