Driver in Chase Dies of Injuries
A Chatsworth man who crashed his sedan into a brick wall in Newbury Park has died of head injuries at Los Robles Regional Medical Center, a nursing supervisor said.
John Turner, 20, had led authorities on a harrowing chase along the Ventura Freeway with his lights off Monday, reaching 115 m.p.h. before his car rammed into the wall.
Turner died at 4:16 p.m. Thursday.
Hanz Hoffman, 22, of Canoga Park, a passenger in the car, was in serious condition Friday at the hospital, the nursing supervisor said.
