Ford Announces Recalls: Ford Motor Co. said it is recalling 641,562 Aerostar minivans with 3.0-liter engines and Tempo and Topaz cars with 2.3-liter engines to make emissions corrections. The throttle position sensors in the 1990 and 1991 vehicles can wear prematurely, causing carbon monoxide tailpipe emissions to exceed federal standards, a spokesman said. Ford also announced the recall of 481 F-150 Series light trucks with 5.0-liter engines and automatic transmissions built for sale in California. Ford will replace the electronic engine control processor, which may allow the vehicles to exceed California emission standards.
