A 33-year-old man was shot in the head execution-style in his garage, police said Monday.

Police said they have no suspects in the Sunday night shooting of Bruce Gordon Hanson Jr. No gun was found at the scene.

Hanson died of a single gunshot wound to the head, Sgt. Jim Hudson said.

Police said Hanson’s girlfriend, who was inside the house they shared at 350 S. Grand St., heard “a loud bang” at 8:52 p.m. coming from the attached garage. The girlfriend, who was not identified, found Hanson’s body on the garage floor.

Police said several neighbors also reported hearing a loud noise Sunday evening. C.P. Braga, a neighbor, said he and his wife were watching television when they heard one loud shot. Braga, 64, said he and his wife went to the kitchen window, which overlooks Hanson’s garage.

He said they saw a woman bent over a body yelling, “Call 911! Call 911!”

Landlord Verl Baltes said Hanson had been a “good tenant” for four years. He was a self-employed mason.

Police said they had no motive in the shooting.
