National Adoption Week Proclaimed by President

WASHINGTON —
President Bush on Wednesday proclaimed this National Adoption Week and urged Americans to “make adoption a higher priority.” Two of Bush’s grandchildren are adopted. “Each year more than 50,000 children join new families here in America,” said Bush, but there are more than 30,000 children still waiting for adoption.
