A 43-year-old Fillmore woman suspected of drunk driving was in stable condition in a Santa Paula hospital Thursday after she suffered major injuries when her car slammed into a tree on Thanksgiving Eve.
Pamela Katz will be cited for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, a California Highway Patrol spokesman reported.
Katz was driving south on Grand Avenue west of Fillmore at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday when she missed a stop sign at the point where Grand Avenue dead-ends at Old Telegraph Road, the spokesman said. Her car ran off the road, into a driveway and hit the tree.
There had been eight drunk-driving arrests in Ventura County since the holiday weekend began at 6 p.m. Wednesday, the CHP reported.
