The National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People will open a two-day hearing next week in Los Angeles on police brutality and misconduct, an official said Friday.

“During these two days, we’re going to try to take the pulse of the L.A. community, in order to find out what has happened in the wake of the Rodney King incident . . . and also to find out what initiatives are now in place or are becoming in place . . . (that will) have a positive effect on police-community relations,” said Joseph Duff, president of the NAACP’s Los Angeles branch.

The hearing will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at Patriotic Hall, 1816 S. Figueroa St.
