WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Jalewalia’s 25 Points Lead UCLA

Amy Jalewalia scored 21 of her career-high 25 points in the second half to lead UCLA to a 91-78 victory over Santa Clara in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday afternoon at Pauley Pavilion.
Rehema Stephens added 22 points and nine rebounds for the Bruins (2-0), who led, 72-70, with 6 1/2 minutes remaining before outscoring the Broncos, 14-2, to put away the victory.
UCLA led, 37-32, at halftime.
Melissa King led Santa Clara (2-1) with 18 points and seven assists.
Jalewalia, a 6-foot sophomore forward, made 11 of 14 field-goal attempts and all three of her free throws.
