* Exxon Corp. appointed Harry J. Longwell, now executive vice president of the company’s international unit, president of its domestic oil and gas operating unit, Exxon Co. USA, effective Feb. 1.
He will succeed William D. Stevens, who is retiring.
Longwell is also expected to be elected a vice president of the corporation. With Exxon since 1963, he has served in executive positions in the domestic and European production operations and in the corporate headquarters.
Stevens retires after a career that began in 1958.
