Robbins Resigns From Senate

Your Nov. 20 edition is a remarkable piece of work. Two prominent state personnel are featured; on the front page, Sen. Robbins, and A3, UC President David Gardner. Both are departing our employ, but for the most diverse reasons imaginable. One was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. The other because of the unbearable loss of his devoted and inspiring mate. She had to be a magnificent jewel.
It is the sign of our times that front-page billing goes to the political hack who is probably marketing his memoirs as this is being written. That matters not.
The important concern is David Gardner. He has been and can continue to be a great asset to our society. Time is a healer. It is my fervent wish that he keep active and productive. Another fine woman is sure to find her way into his life, even though that may seem remote at this time. Just hang in there!
