Bank Interested In Some B of A Deposits: Oregon-based U.S. Bancorp confirmed that it hopes to bid on some of the deposits and branches in Washington state and Northern California that BankAmerica Corp. is expected to divest to satisfy antitrust concerns stemming from its pending acquisition of Security Pacific Corp. About $1.2 billion in Washington deposits, and as much as $1 billion in deposits in Northern California, may be made available. Banking executives believe that U.S. Bancorp’s chances, however, may be slim because it is the largest competitor for BankAmerica and Security Pacific in Washington.
