Two Los Angeles inmates of the California Youth Authority school in Camarillo walked away from a work crew in the Oak Park area Tuesday afternoon, but were arrested several hours later, authorities said.

Taken into custody were Miguel Rizo and Tony Rivera, both 18.

Both were serving terms at the Ventura School’s public service and fire camp when they escaped. Rizo was in custody for assault with a deadly weapon and Rivera for burglary and assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said.

The pair were working in a park when they walked away. Sheriff’s deputies with a canine unit helped CYA security officers track them down and take them into custody not far from the park, CYA Lt. Stan Windrem said.
