PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Kelly Has Good Coliseum Memories

Share

This Sunday, the Raiders get Jim Kelly on their home turf. Is this good news?

As quarterback for the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League in 1985, Kelly set a professional football record for most passing yards in one game, 574, against the Los Angeles Express at the Coliseum. Kelly completed 35 of 54 passes for five touchdowns.

The NFL record for one game is 554 yards, set by Norm Van Brocklin in 1951. Kelly’s only Coliseum appearance as the Buffalo Bills’ quarterback came against the Raiders in 1987. In that game, he completed 22 of 36 passes for 315 yards and a touchdown.

Raider receiver Sam Graddy missed another practice because of the bruised ankle he suffered against the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 17. Graddy is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bills. . . . Linebacker Aaron Wallace was held out of practice because of a sore hamstring.
