South Pasadena : Building Ban May Be Lifted
The citywide moratorium on new building and development permits could be lifted by the middle of next month.
The City Council voted 5-0 last week to rescind the moratorium, which was enacted last April to prevent most new commercial and residential development while the city created an architectural review process.
The council approved a 10-member design review commission last month and is filling the final vacancy on the new panel.
A final vote on the moratorium is scheduled for Dec. 18. If lifting the ban is approved, the moratorium, scheduled to expire in mid-April, would end Jan. 18.
