Cross Controversy
I am an agnostic. I became one by using my intellect, not by the lure of bingo games, a flash of light or some other sort of revelation.
Because of my unwillingness to proclaim a belief in a “Supreme Being,” I cannot join the Masons, the Moose, the Elks, the Knights of Columbus, the Boy’s Clubs, the Girl’s Clubs, the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts and hundreds of other clubs and organizations. My chances of being elected to any political office would be about nil.
Worst of all, my grandchildren are taught in Sunday schools and catechism classes that their grandpa is evil and will spend an eternity in hell because he doesn’t believe in the “traditional Christian” values.
Do I feel mocked by those crosses which represent this bigotry? You bet I do!
