County Transportation Official Gets Raise--to $122,858 a Year
Stanley Oftelie, one of Orange County’s highest-paid public officials, received a 5% raise to $122,858 per year Monday as part of a new, three-year contract as head of the Orange County Transportation Authority.
As part of the new contract, Oftelie will undergo performance reviews that could lead to additional pay hikes in March and in July.
The salary agreement was approved during Monday’s meeting of the OCTA board.
The OCTA board also moved plans forward for a 47-mile monorail or other elevated rail system by awarding a $713,000 contract to Gannett Fleming Co. for preliminary engineering studies. The firm competed for the contract with CRSS Civil Engineers Inc. and the IBI Group.
The urban rail system studies are scheduled to be completed within 18 months and will include proposed station sites and ridership projections.
Also on Monday, OCTA board members selected Sarah Catz, a member of the agency’s citizens rail advisory committee, to serve as an alternate to at-large public member Dana W. Reed.
Catz was chosen over Chapman University President James Doti.
