Palmdale Approves $600 Raise for Mayor
The mayor of Palmdale will begin making more than other City Council members in April, when a $600 raise will boost the mayor’s pay to $1,000 a month.
Without discussion, the council voted 5 to 0 Monday night to grant the raise, which will take effect after the April election.
A city staff report said the raise is intended to compensate the mayor for having more duties than council members.
Council members earlier this year voted to increase their $400 monthly salaries to $600 beginning in April.
Mayor Pete Knight has not said whether he will seek reelection.
