Owner John Pickett said that he had executed a letter of intent to sell up to 50% of the New York Islanders to two Long Island investment firms, Walsh, Greenwood & Co. and First Long Island Investors, Inc. The transaction is expected to take about 60 days, pending approval by the NHL.
