Westchester : Meeting on Bluffs Proposal

Share

City planners will discuss their latest draft of a proposal to regulate building on the scenic bluffs in Westchester and Playa del Rey at a meeting tonight of the Westchester/Playa del Rey Community Planning Advisory Committee.

The plan is the result of pressure from community activists who were upset several years ago by the proliferation of 10,000-square-foot mansions on the scenic bluffs. Residents complained that the newly constructed homes were ugly and obstructed views. The proposal put together by city planners sets height limits for such construction and requires bigger side yards than zoning regulations previously mandated.

The advisory committee, established by Councilwoman Ruth Galanter, will meet at 7 p.m. at 7166 W. Manchester Ave.
