Woman Fatally Shot While Sitting in Car
A 19-year-old woman was shot to death in her car while parked outside her boyfriend’s Canoga Park apartment building, Los Angeles police said Friday.
The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was shot once in the upper torso about 11 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the De Soto Gardens apartments in the 8700 block of De Soto Avenue, near Parthenia Street, Los Angeles police said. She was pronounced dead at West Valley Hospital, Police Lt. Joe Eddy said.
Police knew of no suspects or motive for the slaying, which occurred just after she dropped off her boyfriend and walked back to her car, Eddy said. The boyfriend heard a gunshot and ran to the parking lot.
“She was found sitting in her car,” Eddy said. “There’s no evidence of any property missing. No vehicles were seen fleeing.”
