Duarte Residents Express Their Civic Pride
We believe Duarte’s mayor, City Council and staff to be one of the most competent and responsive in the area.
Perhaps Mr. (Steven R.) Desens unfortunately experienced some of the potential negatives indigenous to condominium home ownership. Duarte has worked very hard to create a positive public image and will continue to do so--to wit Duarte recently received commendations from the League of California Cities, Helen Putnam award for excellence.
Nov. 27 was the sixth annual mayor’s Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast. All facets of the community were represented. All ethnic groups were present. Local clergy, nuns and retired Presbyterian missionaries were in attendance.
In short, a manifestation of the positive changes a diverse group with one goal in mind can accomplish when working in harmony. Standing room only! It was magnificent!
