2-Year Treasury Note Yields Hit 17-Year Low: Yields on two-year Treasury notes fell at auction to their lowest level since the government began offering them on a regular basis in 1974. The average yield was 5.12%, down from 5.51% at the last auction on Nov. 25. The notes will carry a coupon interest rate of 5%, with each $10,000 in face value selling for $9,977.50. A total of $13.5 billion in notes were sold out of bids totaling $30.7 billion.
