Smith’s Acquittal on Rape Charge
Is there anyone besides me who was fed up with the media coverage of the Smith rape trial?
We have been inundated with sensuous details, all of which could have been found on a rerun of “Dallas” and with less sensationalism.
Are the media bosses so certain that the viewing public demands this intensity of coverage? Who are they using as their test sample?
If this is a commentary on the drabness of most Americans’ lives, if indeed we find this voyeurism entertaining, how sad. Even sadder is that our intelligence is possibly being underestimated by the media men.
