2 Tons of Snow to Be Shipped to Park
Borchard Community Park in Thousand Oaks will be transformed into a winter wonderland today when two tons of snow is delivered by the Conejo Valley Parks and Recreation District.
The snow, actually shaved ice, will be transported from Ventura in a large dump truck and will arrive at the park between 1 and 2:30 p.m., said recreation coordinator Kathy Meyer. The snow is part of the park’s Holiday Tot Party for children ages 3 to 5. It will feature Santa Claus, arts and crafts and carnival games, she said.
Children will be able to play in the snow for free, but the Holiday Tot Party activities will cost $2. For more information, call Meyer at 498-3124.
