Orange Juice Spill Shuts Freeway Lane
One westbound lane of the Simi Valley Freeway near the Madera Road exit was closed for several hours Wednesday afternoon because an orange juice tanker truck ruptured, spilling the sticky liquid onto the roadway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A structural weakness in the tanker’s midsection caused the metal to give way, unleashing the juice, a CHP spokeswoman said. She did not know how many gallons were lost or the name of the juice company.
