A Hell’s Angel motorcycle club member convicted last summer of drug crimes was sentenced Thursday by a San Diego federal judge to life in prison without parole.

Ronald Peter Liquori Sr., known as “Dirt,” was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Judith N. Keep.

Federal law required that Liquori, whose age was not available, draw a mandatory life sentence because of two prior state drug convictions, prosecutors said.

Liquori was convicted in federal court last July of conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine, making the drug, possessing chemicals used to make it, being a felon in possession of a firearm and being a drug user in possession of a firearm, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Laura J. Birkmeyer, the prosecutor.

Liquori, his son and six others were convicted of drug or weapons charges after a seven-month federal investigation, Birkmeyer said.
