Countywide : It Could Rain--but Not on Christmas

Share

The winds that ripped through Orange County on Thursday eased Friday, bringing a temperate day, but forecasters said rain could descend by the end of the weekend.

The weather warmed up a bit Friday, with temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Santa Ana, with its reading of 74 degrees, was the warmest spot in the county. Weak Santa Ana winds meant breezes of 17 to 22 m.p.h., said Stephanie Hunter, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times.

A low-pressure system now hovering in the eastern Pacific Ocean off the coast of Northern California is expected to bring increasing clouds on Sunday, with rain by Sunday night, Hunter said.

The showers will probably continue into Monday, she said, but Christmas Day is expected to be clear and sunny.
