Former Dodger and Angel Mike Marshall signed a two-year contract to play for the Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan.

Marshall, 32, spent 11 seasons in the majors, batting .270 with 148 home runs and 550 runs batted in. He played the first nine years for the Dodgers, split 1990 with the New York Mets and Boston, and was with the Red Sox and Angels last season. Marshall was on the disabled list seven times in the past eight seasons.

“He likes to complain a lot (about) not playing,” Pat Gillick, Toronto Blue Jay general manager, said last season, “but that’s what he does best--not play.”
