Orange Coast Women Fade in Second Half, Lose to Chaffey, 77-60
COSTA MESA —
The Orange Coast women’s basketball team trailed by one point at halftime, but Chaffey pulled away in the second half for a 77-60 victory in the championship game of the first Orange Coast Christmas Classic Sunday at OCC.
Christine Evans scored 26 points, including five three-pointers, for Chaffey (12-4). Evans made four three-pointers in a row midway through the second half as Chaffey added to its 31-30 halftime lead.
Stacey Giem scored 13 points and Nicole Champion had 11 for OCC (11-4), which was without starting forward Colleen Hatch who missed the game because of family obligations.
