Board Should Stop Damage

Share

It never ceases to disgust me whenever I see the inevitable news reports of vandalism in the L.A. school system.

The school board is willing to spend millions to repair damage to the schools year after year but will not do what used to be done years ago to prevent this type of damage.

Many school districts throughout the country have their maintenance people work at night to provide security by their presence. Leaving millions of dollars of real estate and equipment vulnerable to vandals and thieves is criminal negligence, and the continuing numbers of school break-ins should finally soak through the numskulls supposedly in charge and prompt some reaction.

Taxpayers are fed up with this callous squandering of tax money to repair this continuous damage. At least the employment of some night watchmen/cleanup people would provide useful employment for the many unemployed in this city.
