Ferrer Bows Out: Jose Ferrer has withdrawn from the upcoming Broadway production of “Conversations With My Father,” which is scheduled to begin rehearsals in February prior to a March opening in New York. The 79-year-old actor left on the advice of his doctors who said he should not engage in a rigorous rehearsal and performance schedule. A replacement is being sought to star with Judd Hirsch in the comedy by Herb Gardner (“A Thousand Clowns”) about a Yiddish actor who lives above a Lower East Side bar.
